Introduction

CloudCast is a world-wide and expandable measurements and analysis system, collecting data from the major public clouds.

Summary

CloudCast is composed of measurement agents automatically installed in each public cloud region, centralized control, measurement database, an analysis engine, and visualization tools. Advanced analysis of these measurements reveals surprising results, which include:
1) Each cloud provider has a unique network connectivity profile.
2) Most of the links do not provide optimal RTT. Using one or more relays (often of a different cloud provider) can further reduce the total RTT.
