Mahesh Balakrishnan received a PhD in Computer Science from Cornell University in 2009. He joined VMware in Dec 2014, and worked before that at Microsoft Research Silicon Valley. His research interests span distributed systems, storage and networking. Currently, his research centers on new developer-facing abstractions that democratize the construction of fast, reliable and consistent systems.
