P4 is a language for expressing how packets are processed by the data plane of switches, network interface cards, routers or network appliances.

Mihai Budiu, a Senior Researcher at VRG, was recognized for his "dedicated service to the P4 community as a designer of the P416 language, the primary developer of the p4c reference compiler, and co-chair of the P4 Language Design Working Group."

Antonin Bas, a Staff Engineer at VMware, was recognized for his "dedicated service to the P4 community as a designer of P4Runtime, the primary developer of the bmv2 software switch, and co-chair of the P4 API Working Group."
